Welcoming locals, pristine beaches, white sand bar, century old churches, majestic views, gorgeous waterfalls, amazing diving spots, and other water wonders is how I remember Siquijor that made my very first travel outside Cebu remarkable. No wonder, it become one of the favorites travel destination in Visayas nowadays. A small yet full of surprises Island with an exquisite beauty to transpire.

Never been imagined I would feel senti-emotional the day we have to leave the island. When at first, I was too hesitant to agree for Siquijor as our next travel destination. Undeniably, the stories of witchcraft and sorcery have helped Siquijor to preserved its natural wonders. And to those who dare to explore will definitely have one of the best escapade experience. Kudos to the locals and the management, they were able to keep it intact and unharmed.

On the other note, Siquijor is a small island where you can tour around in just one day. Yas!

HOW TO GET TO SIQUIJOR

Via Cebu City

Take a bus bound to Liloan Port (Bato via Oslob) in the municipality of Santander, in South of Cebu at the South Bus Terminal. Fare is around 180 php for an airconditioned bus with a 3-4 hrs travel time but I recommend you to take a 3AM bus to avoid traffic and terminal crowd.

From Liloan port to Sibulan port (Dumaguete, Negros Oriental), pay 62php for terminal and fast craft fee. Travel is around 20-25 minutes.

From Sibulan port, take a jeepney bound to Dumaguete for 11php fare with less than 30 mins travel.

When we reached Dumaguete Port, we took a fast craft by GL Shipping Lines Ferry with 180php fare and terminal fee of 15php - bound to Siquijor with a 1 hr travel period.

Upon docking in Siquijor port, there are tricycles lining up  waiting for passengers. From Siquijor proper to San Juan (where our resort is located) we paid for 150 php each. The travel was pretty far.
Protip: Choose a resort to stay in Siquijor, Siquijor.

HOW TO TOUR SIQUIJOR

By Motorbike

For as low as 350php/day, you can rent a motorbike. This is ideal for tourists who knows how to drive, familiar of the road and the places to go since you can really save unlike paying for tricycle or getting a tour package. You can ask the locals to show you how and where to rent.

By Tricyle
The tricycle drove us to San Juan in our first day was also our driver for the whole tour.
We paid for 2,000 php for 2 with 11 destinations to visit.

I highly recommend Kuya Glenn as a tourist guide and driver. He grew up in Siquijor and pretty know the place. He's also entertaining and you can surely ask him whatever you want to know about Siquijor. The tourist attractions are far from each other and he knows all the shortcut routes to reach to your next destination. He was a big help and we successfully traveled all the destinations in just one day without compromising the fun of course. Sitting alone in the tricycle was a whole lot of experience, you got to view the tress, the locals, the houses and more.

In order to save, we refrain from ordering food from our resort as the price range is quite expensive. So Kuya Glenn, brought us here, whom the owner is his old friend. He advised us to be cautious too when it comes to food and where to eat.

It was around noon when our next destination (Day 2) was St Francis of Assisi Church. We ended up here taking our lunch since it's within walking distance from the church. They have a wide selection of food to choose from, offering Filipino food with a very affordable price, as Kuya Glenn said, 'Chada pud'  which means expressing a compliment.
